Grantmaking Procedures

Eligibility Requirements:

The Trustees will consider qualified applications received from organizations that are exempt from taxation under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3). If you are a 509 (a)(3) Supporting Organization, please be prepared to provide additional information. Grants are not made to support individuals.

Grant Cycle and Deadline Information:
The Foundation’s Trustees meet annually in the spring and fall. February 15th and September 15th are the deadlines for submitting grant proposals to be considered at the spring and fall meetings, respectively.

Grant Range:
The average grant size based on the history of the Foundation’s grantmaking is $5,000 to $25,000. There is no stated minimum or maximum grant amount per organization.

You may begin an online application by clicking on the link below and submitting by February 15 and September 15 respectively for the spring and fall meetings.

You will be asked to supply information about your organization, key leadership, details about your grant request, impact you expect the grant to have on your organization or community, time line for the request and how you will measure success.

Please note that the online application requires the following attachments:

  • Current year’s operating budget
  • List of Board Members
  • Program/Project Budget
    (Please be sure to include specifics about how this grant would be used. See samples here.)
  • List of Supporters/Donors
  • Current Strategic Plan (optional)

Attachments can be in Microsoft Word or Excel or Adobe PDF format. Please do not include compressed ZIP files.
